Author, Student of Scripture, Attorney

Daniel R. Crain graduated from the University of Oklahoma (BA-History) and the University of San Diego School of Law. He was a licensed attorney and real estate broker in California, Texas and Oklahoma before retiring from those practices. At one time, he was also a registered representative with Series 7 and Series 63 licenses. He also was employed as an asset manager for the Resolution Trust Corporation for several years in the 1990s, at one point overseeing some 300+ entities with assets of more than $16 Billion.

Those licenses led to his true business calling, which was financing apartment properties under Fannie Mae and FHA.  He financed approximately $4 Billion of apartments under those two programs over a 40+ year career. He sold his company in 2023.

While he continues in the apartment lending business, he enjoys spending time with his family and studying the Bible.   He has read the Bible every year since 1981. Since 1996, tithing has played a large role in his work, marriage and family. Its place in his life and family is the reason for writing The Gift of the Tithe.
